What happens during my first physiotherapy appointment?

Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, relevant health history, daily activities and goals. The appointment may include an assessment of movement, strength, mobility and physical function.

What should I expect at a massage therapy appointment?

Your massage therapist will ask about your goals, preferences and relevant health information. Treatment areas, positioning, pressure and proposed techniques will be discussed before your massage begins.

You can ask questions or request changes to pressure, technique or positioning at any time.

Is massage therapy covered by insurance?

Coverage depends on your individual benefit plan and the eligibility requirements established by your insurer. Confirm your massage therapy coverage directly with your insurance provider before booking.

You may also contact CarePoint to ask what practitioner and receipt information is available.

Is pre-natal or post-natal massage available?

Pre-natal and post-natal massage is included in CarePoint’s massage therapy services. Please disclose your pregnancy, delivery information and relevant health concerns before treatment so positioning and techniques can be appropriately considered.

Your therapist may recommend medical clearance in certain circumstances.

What should I wear to my appointment?

For physiotherapy, wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and reasonable access to the area being assessed.

For massage therapy, your therapist will explain draping, positioning and clothing options. You remain in control of your comfort throughout the appointment.

Does CarePoint offer direct insurance billing?

Coverage and reimbursement decisions are made by your insurance provider.

Do you provide care for motor vehicle injuries?

Physiotherapy for appropriate concerns following a motor vehicle collision is available. Contact the clinic before booking so we can discuss your claim information, documentation and the appropriate appointment type.

Coverage and claim requirements can vary by insurer and claim.

Is functional dry needling suitable for everyone?

No. Your physiotherapist must assess whether dry needling is appropriate for you. The procedure, alternatives and relevant precautions will be discussed, and treatment will only proceed with your informed consent.

Can I book pelvic health physiotherapy privately?

Yes. Pelvic health concerns are approached respectfully and confidentially. Your physiotherapist will explain the assessment, answer questions and obtain consent before proceeding with any part of care.

How many appointments will I need?

The number and frequency of appointments depend on the service, your needs, assessment findings, response and goals. Your provider will discuss the proposed plan with you.
